Description

This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Stuffed French Toast is a rich and indulgent breakfast treat featuring creamy peanut butter, sweet bananas, and melted chocolate sandwiched between slices of golden, eggy French toast.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 slices bread (preferably day-old or sturdy bread like challah or brioche)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • Butter or oil, for greasing the skillet
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, additional banana slices, chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Spread peanut butter on two slices of bread.
  3. Top the peanut butter with banana slices and chocolate chips.
  4. Place the remaining slices of bread on top to form two sandwiches.
  5. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grease with butter or oil.
  6. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides well.
  7. Cook each sandwich in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from skillet and serve immediately with desired toppings.

Notes

  • Use sturdy bread to prevent the sandwich from falling apart.
  • Day-old bread works best for French toast as it soaks up the egg mixture without getting soggy.
  • Customize with other fillings like Nutella or different fruits.
