Description
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Stuffed French Toast is a rich and indulgent breakfast treat featuring creamy peanut butter, sweet bananas, and melted chocolate sandwiched between slices of golden, eggy French toast.
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 slices bread (preferably day-old or sturdy bread like challah or brioche)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 1 banana, sliced
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- Butter or oil, for greasing the skillet
- Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, additional banana slices, chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Spread peanut butter on two slices of bread.
- Top the peanut butter with banana slices and chocolate chips.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top to form two sandwiches.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grease with butter or oil.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides well.
- Cook each sandwich in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from skillet and serve immediately with desired toppings.
Notes
- Use sturdy bread to prevent the sandwich from falling apart.
- Day-old bread works best for French toast as it soaks up the egg mixture without getting soggy.
- Customize with other fillings like Nutella or different fruits.
