A rich and decadent chocolate cake swirled with creamy peanut butter and topped with a smooth chocolate ganache. Perfect for any indulgent occasion!
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions, using the eggs, water, and oil. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the peanut butter, cream cheese, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and melted butter, mixing until well combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the cake batter. Gently swirl it into the batter using a knife.
- Bake the cake for 35–40 minutes, or until the edges are set and lightly browned.
- For the topping, heat the heavy cream until it just starts to simmer. Pour over the chocolate chips and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Stir until smooth, then spread the ganache over the warm cake.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use room temperature cream cheese for a smoother peanut butter filling.
- Let the cake cool slightly before adding ganache to prevent it from becoming too runny.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
