Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups peeled and chopped apples (about 1–2 apples)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternately with the sour cream, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
