Description

These Cinnamon Apple Yogurt Bowls are a quick, healthy, and protein-packed breakfast or snack option featuring sautéed cinnamon apples over creamy Greek yogurt and topped with nuts.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 cups nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the apples into small bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small skillet over medium heat, combine the diced apples, cinnamon, honey or maple syrup, and water.
  3. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized.
  4. Remove from heat and let the apples cool slightly.
  5. Divide the Greek yogurt into two bowls.
  6. Top each bowl with the warm cinnamon apples and chopped nuts.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use maple syrup instead of honey to make this recipe vegan (with plant-based yogurt).
  • Use your favorite nuts or omit for a nut-free version.
  • This recipe works great with other fruits like pears or peaches.
