Cinnamon Roll Bliss Bars are soft and chewy dessert bars packed with warm cinnamon flavor and topped with a creamy vanilla frosting. They deliver the nostalgic taste of classic cinnamon rolls in an easy one-pan treat ready in about 45 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and smooth.
- Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth frosting. Spread over the cooled bars, slice, and serve.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bars soft and tender.
- Let the bars cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
- Stir in raisins, dried cranberries, or chocolate chips for variation.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Freeze unfrosted bars for up to 2 months and frost after thawing.
