Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp milk or cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  2. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until a thick batter forms.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the swirl mixture.
  4. Pour half of the batter into a microwave-safe mug.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
  6. Add the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Swirl lightly with a knife or toothpick.
  7. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until the cake is set but still moist.
  8. While the cake cools slightly, mix powdered sugar with milk or cream to create the glaze.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the warm mug cake and serve immediately.
