A quick and comforting classic cheese sandwich made with thick soft white bread, rich butter, and generous shavings of cheese. Perfect for a simple lunch or snack.
Ingredients
- 2 slices Thick Soft White Sandwich Bread
- 3.5oz / 100g Cheese, shaved with a potato peeler
- Butter, as needed
- 1 packet Crisps (optional)
Instructions
- Liberally butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Top one slice with the shaved cheese. Add crisps if using.
- Place the second slice on top, butter-side-down. Gently press to secure the filling, slice in half, and serve.
Notes
- Use a potato peeler to create thin cheese shavings for better texture and coverage.
- Cheddar, Red Leicester, or Double Gloucester work especially well.
- Add crisps just before serving to keep them crunchy.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be wrapped tightly and refrigerated for up to 1 day.
