Description

A quick and comforting classic cheese sandwich made with thick soft white bread, rich butter, and generous shavings of cheese. Perfect for a simple lunch or snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Thick Soft White Sandwich Bread
  • 3.5oz / 100g Cheese, shaved with a potato peeler
  • Butter, as needed
  • 1 packet Crisps (optional)

Instructions

  1. Liberally butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Top one slice with the shaved cheese. Add crisps if using.
  3. Place the second slice on top, butter-side-down. Gently press to secure the filling, slice in half, and serve.

Notes

  • Use a potato peeler to create thin cheese shavings for better texture and coverage.
  • Cheddar, Red Leicester, or Double Gloucester work especially well.
  • Add crisps just before serving to keep them crunchy.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be wrapped tightly and refrigerated for up to 1 day.
