Ingredients

1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick pieces

2 garlic cloves (1 halved for rubbing, 1 minced)

4 ripe Roma tomatoes, diced

¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Brush baguette slices with olive oil on both sides and place on a baking sheet.

Toast in the oven for 7–9 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

Rub each toast with the cut side of a halved garlic clove while still warm.

In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, and optional balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
