Description

A creamy, sweet-and-tangy copycat version of the famous KFC-style coleslaw made with finely chopped cabbage, carrots, and onion tossed in a smooth dressing.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups finely chopped green cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped cabbage, carrot, and onion.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture.
  4. Stir well until all vegetables are evenly coated.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to blend.

Notes

  • Finely chopping the vegetables is key to achieving the classic texture.
  • For best flavor, chill overnight before serving.
  • Adjust sugar or vinegar slightly to taste.
