Description
This Copycat Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding is a creamy, dreamy dessert made with layers of vanilla wafers, fresh bananas, and a rich pudding and whipped cream mixture. It’s easy to make and tastes just like the famous treat from Magnolia Bakery in NYC.
Ingredients
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1½ cups ice cold water
- 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 (11-ounce) box Nilla Wafers
- 4 cups sliced ripe bananas (about 4–5 bananas)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and cold water until well combined.
- Add the instant pudding mix and continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and starts to thicken.
- Cover and refrigerate the pudding mixture for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the chilled pudding mixture until fully combined and smooth.
- In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer Nilla Wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4–6 hours (preferably overnight) before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid mushiness.
- Refrigerating overnight gives the best texture and flavor.
- Layer the dessert in individual cups for easy serving and presentation.
- Can be made up to 2 days in advance.
