Description

Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast is a rich and comforting breakfast made with brioche bread filled with sweet cream cheese and strawberries, then dipped in a cinnamon-vanilla custard and pan-fried until golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (diced)
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 slices brioche bread
  • Butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, diced strawberries, and sugar until well combined. Set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt to make the batter.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture onto one side of 6 slices of brioche bread. Top each with another slice of bread to form a sandwich.
  4. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter to coat the surface.
  5. Dip each sandwich into the batter, ensuring both sides are well coated but not overly soaked.
  6. Place the sandwiches on the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Work in batches if necessary, adding more butter as needed.
  7. Remove the French toast from the skillet and keep warm while cooking the remaining sandwiches.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings such as syrup, powdered sugar, or extra berries.

Notes

  • Allow the cream cheese to fully soften for easier mixing.
  • Thick brioche or challah bread works best for a rich texture.
  • Do not soak the sandwiches too long in the batter to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, or additional fresh fruit.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in a skillet or toaster oven.
