Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the orzo and toast lightly for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy and well combined.
