Description

This Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a quick and flavorful dinner made with juicy shrimp, spaghetti, and a buttery garlic sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen the sauce as needed.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and parsley. Return the shrimp to the pan and toss to combine.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp or they’ll become rubbery.
  • Add more chili flakes for extra heat.
  • You can substitute spaghetti with any pasta you have on hand.
