Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer the sauce for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream until fully combined.
- Add Parmesan cheese and mix until the sauce is smooth.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce and mix well to coat evenly.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
- Add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
- Adjust garlic and spice levels to taste.
