Crispy Angel Cake Churro Bites are a fun and sweet twist on the classic churro, made using angel food cake for a light and airy texture with a crunchy cinnamon-sugar coating. Perfect as a snack or dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 store-bought angel food cake (or homemade)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Cut the angel food cake into 1 to 2-inch bite-sized cubes.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cake cubes in batches for 1–2 minutes, turning to ensure all sides are golden and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Remove the bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels briefly.
- Immediately toss the hot bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
