Description

This Crispy Breaded Herb Tilapia is a quick and easy dinner option packed with flavor. With a crunchy herb-seasoned coating, it’s pan-fried to golden perfection and perfect for a family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 46 ounces each)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels and set aside.
  2. Place the flour in a shallow dish.
  3. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs with 1 tablespoon of water.
  4. In a third shallow dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Dip each tilapia fillet first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the coating sticks.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  7. Carefully place the breaded tilapia fillets in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh or thawed tilapia fillets for best results.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying—cook in batches if necessary.
  • Serve with lemon wedges or tartar sauce for extra flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the oven for crispiness.
