Description
Hearty Slow-Cooked Chicken and Gravy is a classic comfort food dish made with tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in a creamy, savory gravy. Perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a cozy family meal.
Ingredients
- 3–4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 packets of chicken gravy mix (0.87 ounce each)
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup (10.5 ounce)
- 1 can of chicken broth (14.5 ounce)
- 2 teaspoons dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over the chicken.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and dijon mustard (if using) until well combined.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker and stir to mix well with the gravy.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
- Dijon mustard adds a subtle depth of flavor, but can be omitted.
- Great for meal prep—leftovers reheat well.
- Try with turkey or pork as a variation.
