Description

Crockpot Swamp Potatoes are a hearty, comforting side dish made with layers of potatoes, onions, meat, cheese, and seasonings, all slow-cooked to perfection. It’s an easy dump-and-go recipe that’s perfect for potlucks or family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen Southern-style hash browns (diced potatoes)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 lb cooked and crumbled beef sausage or turkey sausage
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Nonstick spray

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of your crockpot with nonstick spray.
  2. Layer half of the hash browns, chopped onions, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese.
  3. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top of the layered ingredients in the crockpot.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender and everything is heated through.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh potatoes, but make sure to dice them evenly.
  • Add green onions or hot sauce for an extra kick.
