Description
These copycat Crumbl chilled sugar cookies are soft, thick, and topped with a sweet almond frosting. They’re served cold for that iconic Crumbl taste and texture.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 2–3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- Pink food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Roll dough into balls (about 1/4 cup each), then flatten slightly and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Do not overbake.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the frosting, beat the butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, almond extract, and cream/milk until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
- Frost the cooled cookies and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Chilling the cookies after frosting gives them the signature Crumbl chilled texture.
- Use room temperature butter for the best creaming results.
- Adjust the amount of almond extract to your taste preference.
