Description

These copycat Crumbl chilled sugar cookies are soft, thick, and topped with a sweet almond frosting. They’re served cold for that iconic Crumbl taste and texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • Pink food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into balls (about 1/4 cup each), then flatten slightly and place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Do not overbake.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. To make the frosting, beat the butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, almond extract, and cream/milk until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
  10. Frost the cooled cookies and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling the cookies after frosting gives them the signature Crumbl chilled texture.
  • Use room temperature butter for the best creaming results.
  • Adjust the amount of almond extract to your taste preference.
