Description
These Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Nut Bars are no-bake, easy to make, and packed with a delicious combination of nuts, seeds, and a rich dark chocolate topping with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 1 cup raw cashews
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios
- 1/3 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup creamy almond butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine almonds, cashews, pistachios, pepitas, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, and hemp seeds.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Stir frequently until smooth and well combined, then remove from heat.
- Pour the wet mixture over the nuts and seeds and stir until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press firmly into an even layer. Use another piece of parchment paper on top to help press it down.
- Place in the freezer for 30 minutes to set.
- Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth.
- Remove bars from the freezer and pour melted chocolate over the top. Spread evenly with a spatula and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Return to freezer for another 30 minutes, or until chocolate is set.
- Remove from the dish and slice into bars. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
