Description

A rich and silky dark chocolate cream pie with a chocolate cookie crust, topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup whipped cream, for garnish
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  5. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  6. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, stirring until smooth and melted.
  7. Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cooled pie crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
  9. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  10. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Use good-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Make sure the crust is completely cool before adding the filling.
  • The pie can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
