Description
Crispy golden wontons filled with creamy strawberry cheesecake and a burst of sweet berry jam—an irresistible bite-sized dessert perfect for parties or indulgent snacks.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup strawberry jam or preserves
- ¼ cup fresh strawberries, diced (optional)
- 20–24 wonton wrappers
- Water, for sealing the edges
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in strawberry jam and diced strawberries (if using) until just combined.
- Lay out wonton wrappers on a clean, dry surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Fold into a triangle or desired shape, pressing edges firmly to seal.
- Heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wontons in batches for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pot.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer fried wontons to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
Notes
- Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature for even frying.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
- You can freeze the filled wontons before frying for later use.
- Try different jams like raspberry or blueberry for variety.
