Description

Delicious Strawberry Tiramisu is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, offering a fruity flavor that balances the rich and creamy layers of mascarpone, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/2 cup sugar, divided

2 cups heavy whipping cream

8 oz mascarpone cheese

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2430 ladyfinger cookies

1/2 cup brewed coffee, cooled

1 tablespoon cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries by slicing them and placing them in a bowl. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and stir to combine. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to release their juices.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining 1/4 cup sugar until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.
  3. Gently fold the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract into the whipped cream until fully combined, creating a smooth, creamy mixture.
  4. In a shallow dish, pour the cooled coffee. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee, making sure not to soak them too long.
  5. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or trifle bowl.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers and top with half of the macerated strawberries.
  7. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and strawberries.
  8. Finish by dusting the top with cocoa powder.
  9. Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to firm up.

Notes

  1. Can be made up to 24 hours ahead for optimal flavor.
  2. Use gluten-free ladyfingers for a gluten-free version.
  3. For a richer taste, drizzle melted chocolate between layers for a chocolate strawberry tiramisu variation.
  4. For a vegan version, substitute mascarpone with a dairy-free version and use coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
  5. Add a tablespoon of rum or amaretto to the coffee for an alcoholic version.
