Description
A savory, tangy dumpling sauce with soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and a touch of heat. Perfect for dipping potstickers, gyoza, or steamed dumplings.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon chili oil
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced green onions
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce and rice vinegar.
- Stir in the sesame oil and chili oil until well blended.
- Add the minced garlic and sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Mix in the sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using.
- Let the sauce sit for 5–10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving with dumplings.
Notes
- Adjust chili oil to control the heat level.
- For a sweeter sauce, add an extra 1/2 teaspoon sugar.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Also works well as a dipping sauce for spring rolls or drizzled over noodles.
