Description

Easy Baked Ravioli is a comforting, family-friendly casserole made with layers of frozen cheese ravioli, savory meat marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. It delivers all the flavors of lasagna with minimal prep, making it perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 48 ounces marinara sauce (2 jars, 24 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 24-ounce bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh or dried parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onion is softened. Drain excess grease. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 4–5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. Spread one-third of the sauce mixture on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Top with half of the remaining sauce and sprinkle with half of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.
  5. Add the remaining ravioli in a single layer. Spread the remaining sauce over the top and finish with the remaining cheeses.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let rest for several minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Ground turkey or plant-based crumbles can be substituted for ground beef.
  • Add ricotta, provolone, or cheddar cheese for extra flavor and creaminess.
  • For added vegetables, mix cooked spinach, zucchini, or bell peppers into the sauce.
  • Fresh ravioli can be used instead of frozen; reduce baking time slightly if needed.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
