Description
These easy chocolate covered strawberries make a delicious and impressive treat, perfect for Valentine’s Day, parties, or a sweet homemade gift. They only require two ingredients and a few simple steps.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh strawberries (about 20 strawberries)
- 8 ounces semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
- Optional: 1-2 ounces white chocolate or milk chocolate for drizzling
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries and dry them completely with a paper towel. Make sure they are fully dry before dipping.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
- Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, turning to coat all sides. Let the excess drip off.
- Place the dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet.
- If using, melt the white or milk chocolate and drizzle it over the dipped strawberries with a spoon or piping bag.
- Let the strawberries sit at room temperature until the chocolate sets, or refrigerate for 15–30 minutes to speed up the process.
Notes
- Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
- You can use any type of chocolate: dark, milk, or white, based on preference.
- Decorate with crushed nuts, sprinkles, or drizzle for a fancy touch.
- Best enjoyed the same day they’re made.
