Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 3/4 cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for greasing and drizzling
  • 12 teaspoons flaky sea salt, for topping
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme), optional for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, kosher salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add warm water and 1/4 cup olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Generously oil a 9×13 inch baking pan. Transfer the dough into the pan and stretch it gently to fill the pan. Let it rise again for 30–45 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C).
  6. Once risen, use your fingers to dimple the dough all over. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and herbs if using.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from oven and cool slightly before slicing and serving.
