Ingredients
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together mozzarella, cheddar, flour, baking powder, black pepper, garlic powder, salt, and egg until a dough forms.
- Take small portions and roll into bite-sized balls.
- Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
- Place the coated balls in the fridge for 15–30 minutes to firm up.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the cheese balls in batches until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving hot.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is not too hot or the balls may burn quickly.
- Use any combination of cheeses you prefer.
- You can freeze the balls before frying for later use.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara or ranch.
