Description

These easy fried cheese balls are crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and packed with flavor. Perfect as a party snack or appetizer, they’re made with simple ingredients and can be prepared in advance.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together mozzarella, cheddar, flour, baking powder, black pepper, garlic powder, salt, and egg until a dough forms.
  2. Take small portions and roll into bite-sized balls.
  3. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  4. Place the coated balls in the fridge for 15–30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the cheese balls in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving hot.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is not too hot or the balls may burn quickly.
  • Use any combination of cheeses you prefer.
  • You can freeze the balls before frying for later use.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara or ranch.
