Description

This easy garlic butter shrimp and rice recipe is a quick and delicious dinner made with juicy shrimp sautéed in garlic butter, served over fluffy rice for a comforting and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter and olive oil.
  2. Once melted, add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes, and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Pour in the lemon juice and allow it to sizzle for a few seconds.
  5. Stir in the chopped parsley and toss to coat the shrimp in the sauce.
  6. Serve the garlic butter shrimp over the cooked rice and spoon any remaining sauce from the pan on top.

Notes

  • Use frozen, deveined shrimp for convenience—just thaw before cooking.
  • Adjust chili flakes based on your spice preference.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
