Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Drain excess grease from the pan.
- Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, and water until well combined.
- Add chili powder, paprika, mustard, cumin, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Serve warm over hot dogs.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, break up the beef finely while cooking.
- Adjust spices to taste for more or less heat.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
