Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Drain excess grease from the pan.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, and water until well combined.
  5. Add chili powder, paprika, mustard, cumin, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  7. Serve warm over hot dogs.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, break up the beef finely while cooking.
  • Adjust spices to taste for more or less heat.
