Description
A fresh and flavorful Easy Pico de Gallo made with ripe tomatoes, crisp onions, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice. Perfect as a dip for chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, and grilled meats.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 medium white onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
Instructions
- Wash and prepare all ingredients by dicing the tomatoes and onion, mincing the jalapeño, and chopping the cilantro.
- Add the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro to a medium mixing bowl.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture.
- Season with salt and gently stir until well combined.
- Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
- Refrigerate for 15–30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- For less heat, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño.
- Use fresh, firm tomatoes for best texture and flavor.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Drain excess liquid before serving if desired.
