Mark’s English Sausage Rolls are a classic British snack made with savory sausage meat wrapped in flaky puff pastry. Perfect for parties, picnics, or a hearty appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package pork sausage
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 (17.25 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine sausage, parsley, thyme, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well blended.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into thirds along the fold lines, creating six long rectangles.
- Divide sausage mixture into six equal parts. Shape each portion into a log and place it down the center of each pastry strip.
- Fold pastry over sausage and press edges to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Cut each roll into four equal pieces.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
