Description

Indulge in the rich flavors of this Famous Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi recipe. Succulent shrimp are perfectly cooked in a buttery garlic sauce with a hint of lemon and white wine. Whether you’re craving a delicious seafood dish for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this easy, restaurant-style shrimp scampi will impress everyone at the table.

Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

4 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Add the garlic and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, reducing slightly.

  • Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and stir in the remaining butter. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the shrimp to soak up the sauce.

  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then sprinkle with chopped parsley.

  • Serve immediately, garnished with lemon wedges.

Notes

  1. Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  2. Reheating: Reheat in a skillet with a splash of white wine or broth for a smoother sauce, or microwave gently.
  3. Wine Substitute: You can replace the white wine with chicken or vegetable broth for a non-alcoholic version.
