Description

These Fluffy Cinnamon Rolls are soft, airy, and packed with sweet cinnamon flavor. Made with a rich, buttery dough and topped with a luscious cream cheese frosting, they’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240g) warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (7g) active dry yeast
  • ⅓ cup (67g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 ½ cups (560g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • For the Filling:
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 2 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 4 ounces (113g) cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup (57g) unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup (90g) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add sugar, eggs, and softened butter. Mix until combined.
  3. Add flour and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches).
  6. Spread softened butter over the dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. While baking, make the frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  11. Let rolls cool slightly before spreading frosting over the top. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for best dough texture.
  • You can prepare the rolls ahead of time and refrigerate overnight before baking.
  • If you prefer a lighter frosting, reduce the cream cheese or powdered sugar slightly.
  • For extra gooey rolls, pour a little warm cream over them before baking.
