Description

This French Bread Sloppy Joe recipe is a quick and delicious twist on the classic sandwich. It combines ground beef, Sloppy Joe sauce, and melted cheese, all baked on top of a French bread loaf for a crispy, cheesy, and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the Sloppy Joe sauce to the cooked meat and stir to combine. Simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
  4. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and place both halves on a baking sheet.
  5. Optional: Sprinkle garlic powder over the bread for extra flavor.
  6. Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  7. Top with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • You can use homemade Sloppy Joe sauce instead of canned if preferred.
  • Feel free to add chopped onions or bell peppers to the meat for added flavor.
  • This recipe is great for feeding a crowd or as a quick family dinner.
