- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 box of apple or peach pie filling
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the cream cheese, and beat until smooth.
- Add the vanilla, flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix until a dough forms.
- Sprinkle a little flour on a flat surface, place the dough in the center, and roll it out to about an inch thick.
- Using a 3-inch round cookie cutter, cut out 40 circles of dough.
- Place the pie filling in a bowl and mash it up until there are no more big fruit chunks.
- Put a teaspoon of filling in the center of 15 dough circles. Cover each with another dough circle.
- Crimp the edges of each merged circle with the tines of a fork.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Mix the garnish (2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon) and sprinkle it on each pie while still warm.
- Let cool slightly and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use any fruit pie filling of your choice, including cherry or blueberry.
- Chilling the dough for 15 minutes before rolling can make it easier to handle.
