Ingredients
- 1 lb. cod fillets
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp paprika
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Remove the butter from heat and stir in the lemon juice, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Place the cod fillets in a baking dish and pour the garlic butter sauce over them, making sure the fish is well coated.
- Bake the cod in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Cayenne adds a mild kick—adjust to taste or omit for a milder flavor.
- Serve with rice, vegetables, or a light salad for a complete meal.
- This recipe works well with other white fish like haddock or tilapia.
