Description

This butter pasta recipe is a simple, comforting dish made with tender pasta tossed in rich melted butter and Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a quick weeknight meal or an easy side dish.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces spaghetti or pasta of choice
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
  3. Return the hot pasta to the pot and add the butter. Toss until the butter is completely melted and evenly coats the pasta.
  4. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss until creamy and well combined. Add more pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  5. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
