These garlic butter steak bites are juicy, flavorful, and paired with crispy herb-seasoned potatoes for a hearty one-pan meal. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner with bold garlic and buttery goodness.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lb baby red and yellow potatoes, cut into ½ inch cubes
- 3 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- ¼ – ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 – 1¼ lb sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter with ½ tablespoon of olive oil.
- Add the potatoes, garlic, parsley, thyme, rosemary, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes until the potatoes are tender but still firm. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- Discard any burnt garlic or herbs from the skillet and increase the heat to high. Add the remaining ½ tablespoon olive oil and remaining tablespoon of butter.
- Add the steak bites in a single layer and sear for about 1 minute without stirring.
- Continue cooking for 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked to your preferred doneness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return the potatoes to the skillet and cook for 1 additional minute until heated through. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use ribeye or strip steak if preferred for extra richness.
- A cast iron skillet helps achieve the best sear on the steak.
- Adjust the red pepper flakes for more or less heat.
- Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
