Description

A simple and flavorful side dish featuring crisp-tender green beans sautéed with garlic, finished with fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans, fresh, rinsed, ends trimmed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil, add green beans and ½ teaspoon salt. Cook on medium-low heat for 5 minutes, then drain the beans.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cooked green beans.
  3. Saute on medium heat for about 2 minutes to combine all ingredients.
  4. Remove from heat. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir.
  5. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir again. Taste and add more salt, if needed.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toast the garlic lightly before adding the green beans.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best taste.
  • You can blanch the green beans in advance to save time.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
