Description

This Garlic Parmesan Sauce is a rich, creamy, and flavorful addition to pasta, vegetables, chicken, and more. Ready in just 10 minutes, it delivers comforting, restaurant-quality taste with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Melt the butter, then add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Whisk in the flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until a thick paste forms.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high and gradually whisk in the heavy cream and broth until smooth. Bring to a low simmer and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, until thickened.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Remove from heat and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
  • Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version, though the sauce will be less rich.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-grated cheese.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of milk or broth if needed. Freezing is not recommended.
