Description
This Garlic Parmesan Sauce is a rich, creamy, and flavorful addition to pasta, vegetables, chicken, and more. Ready in just 10 minutes, it delivers comforting, restaurant-quality taste with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Melt the butter, then add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
- Reduce heat to medium. Whisk in the flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until a thick paste forms.
- Increase heat to medium-high and gradually whisk in the heavy cream and broth until smooth. Bring to a low simmer and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, until thickened.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
- Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version, though the sauce will be less rich.
- Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-grated cheese.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of milk or broth if needed. Freezing is not recommended.
