Description

This Gingerbread Bundt Cake is a moist, richly spiced holiday dessert made with molasses, warm spices, and a simple glaze. Perfect for Christmas gatherings or cozy winter treats.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar or glaze for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan thoroughly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in molasses until fully incorporated.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Mix in vanilla extract.
  7. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow cake to cool in pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze before serving, if desired.
