Description
This creamy ground beef gnocchi is a rich and comforting one-pan dinner packed with tender potato gnocchi, savory beef, and parmesan cheese. It’s quick to make and perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juices
- 1/3 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 pound uncooked potato gnocchi
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook for about 7 minutes, breaking the meat apart as it browns.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes with their juices, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then add the potato gnocchi. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the gnocchi are tender.
- Uncover the skillet and cook a little longer if you prefer a thicker sauce.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese until melted and fully incorporated.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve warm.
Notes
- Use spicy Italian sausage instead of ground beef for extra flavor.
- Fresh spinach can be stirred in during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Add a splash of broth or cream when reheating to loosen the sauce.
