Description
Hearty and comforting casserole with layers of seasoned ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion, garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook until the onions are soft.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture on top. Add another layer of potatoes.
- Pour the beef broth over the casserole. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandoline slicer for evenly thin potato slices.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
