Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off excess fat.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
- Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture over the potatoes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour half of this mixture over the beef and potatoes.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes and soup mixture.
- Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
