This healthy breakfast apple crumble is a wholesome, naturally sweetened dish made with apples, oats, and nuts. It’s perfect for a cozy morning and easy to prepare with just a few clean ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2 apples (medium-sized, chopped)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup ground oats (or oat flour)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or almonds)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine chopped apples with lemon juice and cinnamon. Mix well and transfer to a small baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, ground oats, chopped nuts, and baking powder.
- Add melted coconut oil and maple syrup to the oat mixture. Stir until crumbly and well combined.
- Spread the oat crumble topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm as is or with yogurt or milk.
Notes
- You can use any variety of apples, but sweeter ones like Fuji or Gala work well.
- Substitute maple syrup with honey or another natural sweetener if desired.
- Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat before serving.
