Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
- 1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- Butter lettuce leaves, for serving
- Optional toppings: shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, lime wedges
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Add chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Remove from heat and spoon the turkey mixture into butter lettuce leaves.
- Top with optional garnishes like shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, or a squeeze of lime.
- Serve immediately.
