Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Butter lettuce leaves, for serving
  • Optional toppings: shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Mix until well combined.
  5. Add chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  6. Remove from heat and spoon the turkey mixture into butter lettuce leaves.
  7. Top with optional garnishes like shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, or a squeeze of lime.
  8. Serve immediately.
