Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1/2 cup butter (for frosting)
- 1–2 tbsp milk (for frosting)
- Food coloring or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with heart-shaped liners or shape liners into hearts.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well, then mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Fill liners about 2/3 full and bake for 18–22 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cupcakes cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Frost cupcakes and decorate with sprinkles or food coloring as desired.
Notes
- Use a heart-shaped pan for a more defined shape.
- Do not overmix batter to keep cupcakes light.
- Cool cupcakes fully before frosting.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
