Description

A quick and easy Instant Pot ground turkey pasta made with lean turkey, tender pasta, and a rich tomato-based sauce. Perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner ready in under 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 8 oz penne pasta (uncooked)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil.
  2. Add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess liquid if needed.
  4. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Pour in marinara sauce and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  6. Add uncooked pasta and gently press it into the liquid without stirring too much.
  7. Close the lid, set valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  8. Allow a quick release once cooking is complete.
  9. Stir the pasta, then mix in mozzarella and Parmesan until melted and creamy.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground chicken for ground turkey.
  • For extra vegetables, add spinach or diced bell peppers before pressure cooking.
  • If the pasta is too thick, stir in a splash of broth after cooking.
  • Use whole wheat pasta for added fiber.
