Description
A quick and easy Instant Pot ground turkey pasta made with lean turkey, tender pasta, and a rich tomato-based sauce. Perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 8 oz penne pasta (uncooked)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil.
- Add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess liquid if needed.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Pour in marinara sauce and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
- Add uncooked pasta and gently press it into the liquid without stirring too much.
- Close the lid, set valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
- Allow a quick release once cooking is complete.
- Stir the pasta, then mix in mozzarella and Parmesan until melted and creamy.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken for ground turkey.
- For extra vegetables, add spinach or diced bell peppers before pressure cooking.
- If the pasta is too thick, stir in a splash of broth after cooking.
- Use whole wheat pasta for added fiber.
