Description

This homemade pizza dough is soft, stretchy, and perfect for making delicious pizzas at home. With just a few ingredients and simple steps, you can create an authentic Italian-style base ready for your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (440g)
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (300ml)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (30ml)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the bowl, then mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide into portions if desired, and roll out to use for your favorite pizza recipes.

Notes

  • You can refrigerate the dough for up to 3 days or freeze for later use.
  • Ensure the water is warm (not hot) to properly activate the yeast.
  • For a crispier crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone or steel.
